Several million Quebecers have one or more chronic illnesses. These patients require close monitoring on an ongoing basis. The aging population means there are growing needs that put major pressure on our healthcare system as a whole.
Pharmacists can play a larger role with patients who have chronic illnesses, and thereby improve their quality of life.
The growth in the number of people with chronic illnesses is a significant issue, and pharmacists have the professional skills to make a real difference.
By making the necessary investments, the government could greatly improve patients’ access to the resources needed.
